The third quarter of 2025 has passed by, and we are well into the first month of the fourth quarter. So, how did we do last quarter? Great! I completed two of them, and worked on the third one. Not as much as I’d like but still progress. So, what did I finish? I completed the last hero in the Reaper Miniatures Dragon’s Don’t Share 2013, the elf ranger. On top of it, I painted the Dunkeldorf Mondplatz Monument.

The third model of course being the Storm Giantess. The same one that’s stuck around the last three quarters. I mentioned in the previous blog; if work on this model failed to progress, then it would return to the unfinished projects pile.  Not to be forgotten. Rather to allow opportunity for myself to complete other unfinished miniatures.

In the same blog, I added a fourth potential project to my list. The Labyrinth Witch by Labyrinth Models. In hindsight, this muddied the waters for me. Three at times can be rough depending on other factors in life. Which unforeseen to past me, in September I received a hobby challenge for CritCon. So, the model laid exactly where I left it when writing up the quarter two blog.

As mentioned above, it’s late into the first month of this quarter. What purposed projects comprise the fourth quarter challenge? This will be the last quarter for the giantess. A tough decision but numerous models in my pile of opportunity await. The Labyrinth Witch officially joins the list as well. I started an Idoneth Deepkin Spearhead (this boxset is no longer available) earlier this year.  However; the miniatures in this challenge remain on the Games Workshop website. To make it more focused, I want to finish the Akhelian Morrsarr Guard and the Akehian Allopex. Which would complete those units. That’s this quarter’s challenge.

On a related subject, I currently own multiple large models. The giantess brought to my attention a need to complete them but potentially as separate blog. I’m still ruminating on what name to assign to this particular blog. I’ll let you know once I’ve had more time to think about it.

In September, I entered a miniature painting competition that occurred during Geek Week. In a different post I will present more info but in the end I placed in two of the categories. Second in the war band section and third in the large miniature section. I’m very happy with the results and look forward to more competitions in the future. Until we speak again – Paint fearlessly. It’s just paint and you can fix any mistakes!!
