4th Quarter 2024 Update: Forest Guard, Reaper Heroes & More!

The third quarter of 2024 has ended, and the new one has just begun. Like the previous quarters, it’s time to review how the unfinished projects are progressing. Overall, things are going well. Let’s focus on one project that has carried over from the past two quarters: the Forest Guard. I started this project in the second quarter, and it continued into the third. It looks like it will spill over into the fourth quarter as well. Why is that? There isn’t a simple answer. Primarily, I think the issue lies in the overall vision for the piece and the…

Continued Works Update 3rd Quarter

Looking back at last quarter’s goals, I realize I took on more than I could handle. Out of the three projects I planned, only one was fully completed. I started the quarter with three main goals: finishing the dragon from Reaper Miniatures’ Dragons Don’t Share 2013, painting Games Workshop’s Ironskull’s Boyz from Warhammer Underworlds, and completing a diorama regiment base for my elf Kings of War army, which included multiple miniatures from various sources. Completing the dragon from Dragons Don’t Share required significant time, effort, and planning. I managed to finish two of the four models in the Ironskull’s Boyz…

Continued Works Update Second Quarter

Continued works Quarter 1 results: As I reported earlier, I finished the Dragon Knights of Caledor in January. This left me two other projects to finish by the end of the first quarter – Arkhan the Black and the dragon from Reaper miniatures Dragons Don’t Share. Much to my dismay, February went by quickly. Not to say that work was not done, but most of it was planning on how to deal with the Arkhan the Black model. This model sat unfinished due to all the problems spoken about in the last blog. My solution to the problem of support…

Continued Work on Projects

It’s been a while since I last posted a blog on the site. The best way to start the new year consists of continuing to discuss finishing long-sitting projects. During the last seven months, work has kept me hopping and older projects sat on the side for a little bit more. In January, I started a Q1 list of old projects to finish. This list consists of my High Elf Dragon Knights of Caledor and Arkhan the Black from Games Workshop, and the Dragon from Dragons Don’t Share from Reaper Miniatures, all of which have been sitting on shelf in…

Finishing the unfinished

Have a project you started and just haven’t finished? I got an opportunity to finish some of them, and think about why they were abandoned. Read More

Inspiration: People and the power of words

Recently inspired by a friend’s offhand comment, I was driven to paint a mini that reflected that person’s warrior spirit. Read More
