Finishing the Unfinished Q3 2026

The second quarter of 2026 came to an end a few days ago. With that in mind, how successful was it? A saying comes to mind: so close, yet so far away. I almost finished all three planned projects. Let’s take a look. This quarter’s goals were to complete the bolt thrower operator for the Akhelian Allopex, the Peril Pledges (Gonks), and two Shadow Warriors for my Mordheim warband. I also set myself a bonus goal: a Rat Ogre from Age of Sigmar. Akhelian Allopex I started the quarter strong with the bolt thrower operator. Work began in April, and…

Finishing the Unfinished Q2 2026

I ended the first quarter of 2026 in quite a good spot. My goal was to finish a Stormcast Eternal, a witch, and some elves with anger management issues. Or perhaps deity issues. Either way, as the last days of March crept by, I took a look at my quarterly progress. Stormcast Eternal First on the list – the Stormcast Eternal. A win! I finished this particular model with plenty of time to spare. That being said, it consumed a good portion of my hobby time, mainly because I spent a lot of it experimenting with non-metallic metal techniques. Does…

Finishing the Unfinished Q1 2026

The first month of 2026 draws to a close, and it’s past time to discuss the progress – or lack thereof – from the fourth quarter of 2025. Quite a bit happened outside of hobby time that affected it. The holidays consumed much of my free time, work ramped up significantly, and the extra hours brought their share of fatigue. I experienced a bit of burnout and some creative block. Add in a new feline friend to the household and, as one might expect, not much paint flowed from brush to model. The Labyrinth Witch In all honesty, I only…

Finishing the Unfinished Q3 2025

The third quarter of 2025 has passed by, and we are well into the first month of the fourth quarter. So, how did we do last quarter? Great! I completed two of them, and worked on the third one. Not as much as I’d like but still progress. So, what did I finish? I completed the last hero in the Reaper Miniatures Dragon’s Don’t Share 2013, the elf ranger. On top of it, I painted the Dunkeldorf Mondplatz Monument. The third model of course being the Storm Giantess. The same one that’s stuck around the last three quarters. I mentioned…

Finishing the Unfinished Q2 2025

So, the second quarter of 2025 ended on June 30th. As such, it’s time to see the progression of the projects left over from the last two quarters. Will I personally redeem myself or will it be a matter of disappointment? After all, in the previous two quarters I accomplished very little.  The reasons are laid out in the previous blog. What about this one? I still encountered multiple hurdles in May and June, some personal and some work related. Well, I feel like I moved forward on several projects. As I mentioned in the past, any progress is a…

Continued Works 1st Quarter 2025  Finishing the Unfinished: A Miniature Painting Update (Q4 2024 – Q1 2025) Continued Works 1st Quarter 2025

Let’s get real: the past six months were a whirlwind — fun, hectic, and honestly, not as productive as I had hoped when it came to painting miniatures.  A Look Back: What Happened?  In the final quarter of 2024, I made some progress on my miniature projects, but nowhere near what I envisioned. Fast forward through Q1 2025, and… well, not a single model was finished. The reality? Life happened — both the fun kind and the chaotic kind.  Here’s a quick breakdown:  📦 A sudden move to a new apartment  🏖️ Two vacations — one to Disneyland and another…
